Researching at its most basic!
OBJECTIVE: Students will become familiar with researching on the the Internet. Students will be given a set number of words that they will have to create a definition for that word using (and citing) three sources. Students will receive words on a weekly basis with definitions. They must put those words in their electronic dictionary. Once completed, they are to look up those words on the Internet in three different URSs and find their definitions. They must then list those URLs in their dictionary under the words then using all the definitions they have reviewed, must then put down their own definition.
Students will be faced with using a Search Engine such as Google to look up the words and find several definitions of those assigned words. They will have to take the sources and determine a overall definition using those sources and prepare a report to explain the word, using examples, showing the item and its function as it applies to technology in the classroom.
