OBJECTIVE: Students will become familiar with basic multimedia skills using Premiere Elements 4.  In learning to use the application, students will be applying different skills.  Skills include learning basic information about digital photography, moving to manipulation of the photographs such as layering, tools, text and resampling of images.   Students will use a specific layout provide at a website

1.      Completing the assignments / and journal entries

2.      Learning to use the application including the different parts within the application

3.      Being able to focus on what information is provided and tailoring it to assignments

CONTEXT/TEACHING METHODS:

Context

Computer Classroom. Students will be faced with learning a multimedia application called Photoshop Elements4.  This application allows students to take digital pictures and manipulate them in countless ways.  As a result, students must, (once given an assignment) take graphics provided, save them and take necessary actions with the application to make necessary changes.  Once completed, they must then explain in their journal what took place and how they may use the changes in the future.  Students must process the information they get and organize the pictures, then decide how they want to present the pictures.  

Teaching

STUDENT ACTIVITIES:

  1. Progressing through repetitive activities. 
  2. Developing skills with application
  3. Show completed assignments in timely manner.
  4. Prepare journal entries in timely manner.

  1. Attendance
  2. Observation
  3. Finished product

CORRECTIVES AND ENRICHMENT:

Corrective-

By its very nature, practice develops the manipulation skills to a finer and finer point.  A variety of assignment to develop the skill necessary to manipulate photos.   Students become better the more time they work on additional projects

Enrichment:

Once students have mastered the motor skills needed for keyboarding then we continue to build students speed not only in the timed exercise but in other article, and journal exercises.
